"Art in the Park" Masterful Chainsaw Carvings
24/7-365: throughout the year
A FREE art exhibit in nature. Pick up an "Art in the Park" brochure at the registration desk of the Lodge Lobby or in the brochure rack of the Great Hall and set out on a journey of discovery.
30 masterful chainsaw carvings representing subjects as varied as wildlife to wildflowers and Native American subjects to Abe Lincoln can be found throughout the Lodge grounds.
Many of the outdoor carvings were created from IDNR-approved trees on site.
Make a game of it with your kids, your friends, or your colleagues or use the opportunity as a teaching tool for your students.

Night at the Museum Trolley Tour

History comes to life at the Lodge when Abraham Lincoln accompanies you through an entertaining "Night at the Museum" event at the LaSalle County Historical Society Museum in Utica. Abe will share stories about the personal artifacts that he discovers are housed within this lovely little repository of local history on the I&M Canal. After seeking to reclaim them (and being graciously refused by the gentle museum caretakers), Abe and his lovely bride, Mary Todd Lincoln, will bid farewell to the guests as they reboard the Starved Rock Trolley to continue on their way for a brief visit to Cattails' Wine Tasting Room at Starved Rock Marketplace, and finally enjoy a delicious dinner of fried chicken, cole slaw & mashed potatoes in the Main Dining Room at Starved Rock Lodge. "Christmas at the Lodge" A holiday concert presented by The Prairie Singers
Every December: December 4, 2009--from 7:00-9:00p.m.
The Prairie Singers are a chamber ensemble that will perform music from a broad range of historical periods, along with a wide variety of show tunes, popular, and classical favorites. The evening begins with a few seasonal songs before enjoying a delicious dinner served in historic Starved Rock Lodge. Breakfast with Santa
Every December: December 19, 2009 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

It's not too often you hear of a deer in the Great Hall at Starved Rock Lodge, but Grace a white-tailed deer, (one of the gentle pets of Deb Moreland'sFurry Friends traveling petting zoo) will join the jolliest man himself for Breakfast with Santa at the Lodge on Saturday, December 19th. Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. and then guests will be treated to a local master of illusion: "Magic by Cory". Children may take turns sitting on Santa's lap to tell him their Christmas wishes and receive a chocolate treat. Tickets for adults are $11.95. Children under 10 are $8.95. Early reservations a must. Free Spirit Siberian Rescue hosts this day-long, FREE event, with seminars in the LaSalle Room on the fascinating characteristics of Siberian Huskies and their relatives.
Sled Dog demos will take place in front of the Lodge throughout the day.
Bald Eagle Trolley Tours at Starved Rock
Every January & February Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Mon, Wed. & Sat.- Adults $24.00. Sun. - Adults $29.00 Children 10 and under $5.00 less.
Be mesmerized by the beautiful bald eagles at Starved Rock. Ride the trolley to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center for eagle viewing and an educational program. Furry Friends FREE PETTING ZOO
January 18th 12:00-4:00p.m.
Join Deb Moreland and her crew of furry friends that include a llama, zebu calf, chinchilla, pot bellied pig, ferrets, a skunk and many more. You will be able to touch and interact with these furry friends. Photo opportunities will be available. Lectures at 1:00 & 3:00 p.m. At the 1 pm lecture, topic will be "Introduction to Exotic Animals". The 3 pm lecture will be "How to care for Exotic Animals". No charge or reservations needed.  Eagle Watch Weekend
January 23rd & 24th 9:00-5:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Illinois Audubon Society. Free lectures & exhibits on "Birds of Prey" at the Lodge. Eagle viewing from the Veranda, so bring your binoculars!
Raptor awareness presentations at 10a.m., Noon, 2 & 4 by the World Bird Sanctuary features birds of prey including a bald eagle.

BURGERS for BABIES A March of Dimes Charity Event Feb. 1, 2010
Do you have a great recipe for burgers on the grill? We're looking for participants in our first-ever "March of Dimes" burger cook-off called "BURGERS for BABIES" on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. We'll also have a buffet that night for friends, family and fans of our Burger Chefs! Trophies will be awarded. The deadline for Chefs to enter is Nov. 30, 2009.

Rock Star Competition 2010
Every February
Beginning February 18, Rock Star competitors hit the stage every Thursday night through March 25th. Competition begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Dining Room. Gather your friends and family and come out to listen to the rockin'est voices in the region at Starved Rock & WAJK's 2010 Rock Star Competions. Settle in for an evening of super entertainment and great food at the most entertaining singing contest in the area.

2nd Annual "Artists of the Valley" & Native American Drum Circle
Every February:February 28th 1:00-4:00p.m Great Hall & Starved Rock Room
Ojibway tribal songs and stories with a guest speaker Ron Kanutski. Native American flute & piano performance by Conquering Bear Bill Buchholtz. Donations will be collected prior to the drum circle.
There will also be an exhibit of outstanding Illinois Valley artists in the Starved Rock Room of the Lodge from 11:00-4:00p.m. This event is free & Open to the Public.
LaSalle County Tourism Day

Join us all day long in the Great Hall at Starved Rock to check out Illinois Valley attractions: I&M Canal Boat, Historical Society Museum, Petting Zoo, Visitor Centers, Local Restaurants and Shopping, Alpaca Farm, Follies Theatre, Canyonside Cabin & Courtyard Wedding Facility, Canoeing, River Rapids, Helicopter Rides, Horseback Riding and much more!
